This Memorial Day the Color Guard from the 18th Field Artillery Brigade conducted a ceremonial posting and retrieval of the Colors during the GCVM Memorial Day Ceremony, honoring the fallen service members whose sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Through tradition, respect and remembrance, Soldiers paid tribute to those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

In accordance with the Army’s rollout of the Combat Field Test (CFT), select members of the 18th field artillery brigade participated in the pilot CFT event.

The combat field test will be mandatory for specific MOS’s throughout the Army. The events are conducted in the OCP uniform, and consist of a 1 mile run, 30 dead stop push-ups, a 100m sprint, 16 sandbag lifts onto a 65 inch platform, a 50m water can carry, a 25m High crawl, a 25 meter 3 to 5 second rush, and concluding with a 1 mile run that needs to be completed in 30 minutes or less.
