On 25 -26 January 2026, a multi-state massive snowstorm left in its wake 18 – 22 inches across the New York Tri-state area. USAG Ft. Hamilton was left to combat this storm and snow removal with minimal staff and even less operators for all the equipment on hand. LRC Hamilton aided the USAG by providing all their certified heavy equipment operators to man the machinery, that the LRC already maintains the readiness for, to enable the USAG to go from a closed installation with black road conditions to a fully operational installation with green road conditions. Even the LRC Director, a certified payloader operator, got behind the wheel of a massive 14-foot payloader to aid in snow removal and installation recovery efforts.

Fort Lee closed 26-27 January due to hazardous tinter weather conditions. Emergency essential personnel and contract partners continue to perform essential ILBLS functions in support of the Senior Commander and Garrison Commander force generation activities and installation operations respectively.

Hot meals were served to the Soldiers every day during the Installation closure despite the hazardous weather conditions. Barracks rooms were provided to our FFS contractor for personnel who did not have rides or were concerned about traveling to work. The contractor did a fantastic job resourcing the Warrior Restaurants to continue hot meal service to the Soldiers. Several satisfied ICE comments were received expressing appreciation for the hot meals.

The Installation received a resupply of MREs on 27 JAN in preparation for the next contingency. Ms. Haliday and Ms. Priester cleaned the loading dock and coordinated the snow and ice removal from the parking area of the FPM warehouse to receive the delivery. I applaud their dedication and commitment to supporting the Soldiers.

On 14 Jan 2026, Logistics Readiness Center Lee and Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) Leadership hosted a special pre-grand opening event for the new Victory Fresh dining concept coming to Fort Lee, VA.

Victory Fresh is an innovative restaurant concept, developed in collaboration with Chef Robert Irvine, that provides healthy and nutritious meals in a convenient grab-and-go format. It is part of the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) initiative, designed to offer better nutritional choices and support the fast-paced training mission for our Soldiers, Civilians, and their guests.

The pre-opening event highlighted the facility's modern approach to dining, featuring an array of options that include:
• Grab-and-go wraps and salads
• Build-your-own power bowls
• Hot meals and breakfast options (at some locations)
This initiative is a fantastic example of the Army continuing its mission to provide the best support and quality of life for all who serve and work here.
