This week, West Point cadets walked the historic grounds of Normandy in solemn commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of D-Day. The visit provided a powerful reminder of the immense sacrifices made during Operation Overlord, an extraordinary display of courage, resolve, and selflessness. For our cadets, this served not only as a tribute to the past but also as a poignant reflection on the responsibility they will carry as future leaders of the U.S. Army. Experiences like this are essential to shaping leaders of character, deepening their connection to the Army Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage, and reaffirming their commitment to the enduring principles of Duty, Honor, Country.

Today is National K9 Veterans Day! Celebrated on the official birthday of the US Army K9 Corps, which was formed in 1942. Joseph White, a retired military working dog trainer, originated the idea for the day.
