In a powerful display of community spirit, SAMC and Beaumont Cares joined forces to give dogs 🐕 from the El Paso animal shelter a day of freedom and joy, with several other organizations, including rescue runners 🏃🏾‍♀️ and Bank of America volunteers, lending their support to create a brighter future for these deserving animals. The dogs were visibly ecstatic, enjoying water 💦 and treats 🦴 along the one-mile walk 🐾.

On this holiday weekend, SAMC members of WBAMC’s SMA Wooldridge Chapter shared the gift of love by spending time with residents of Sympatico Assisted Living for an Easter celebration. The lively group engaged in activities from Tug-of-war, egg hunting, egg and spoon race, to pony rides for children. The petting zoo provided comfort and joy to residents, volunteers and visitors. As always, the residents appreciated the service and events like these continue to strengthen community bonds.

This weekend’s volunteer event was a joint effort between SAMC SMA Wooldridge Chapter, Love your block, and Beaumont Cares. This event demonstrated the power of community involvement as the teams worked tirelessly to renovate an elderly couple's residence through painting, scrapping off old paint & cleaning up trash accumulated over time due to disability issues. Assisting those who need it most brings joy beyond compare! Partnering w/ Love your block & Beaumont cares allowed us to dive deeper into our mission - ensuring no one gets left behind on account age or physical limitations when tackling household chores like exterior maintenance would normally present!

This weekend, members of the WBAMC SAMC SMA Wooldridge Chapter, along with Soldiers and staff of WBAMC spent Saturday morning volunteering at Simpatico Senior Living Centwr in El Paso.

The group spent time engaging in conversation, playing board games, and making snack packs for the upcoming week. There was dancing, coloring and several other activities throughout the day. Their presence and service, provided invaluable companionship and brought joy to the residents.

Events like these contribute greatly to building community bonds.

This morning, the WBAMC SMA Wooldridge Chapter of SAMC started of this year’s community event showing some puppy love by supporting the I’m Almost Home Animal Shelter in Anthony, NM.

Our volunteer team assisted with walking, grooming and feeding for over 50 dogs who are waiting to be adopted into a loving home. Our efforts not only provided relief to the staff but also helped maintain the health of the dogs so that they’re ready for adoption!

We had 20 volunteers which included club members, candidates family members and motivated Sildiers from William Beaumont Army Medical Center.

Let’s keep the momentum and continue making our communities better by being good stewards.

REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve.

Members of the WBAMC and Fort Bliss SAMC Chapters were honored to take part in the Wreaths Across America-El Paso ceremony at Fort Bliss National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.

Over 30 Club members, candidates, and their families gathered to lay 8,047 wreaths on 83 acres of land in honor of our fallen heroes.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated in this event and wish everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Today we inducted SSG Fabre to the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. Only inductee this year on Fort Bliss. We were also able to give Mrs Arnold the Mary E. Walker medallion.

They both are amazing people, Servant Leaders and Lead From The Front!!

William Beaumont Army Medical Center Soldiers and staff team up with the William O. Wooldridge & Paseo del Notre SAMC chapters to support the El Paso 9/11 stair climb at UTEP’s Sun Bowl Stadium. First responders from the city and our volunteer Soldiers climbed a total of 110 flights of stairs or the equivalent of 2500 individual stairs. The climb honors the first responders who worked tirelessly to save lives on the terror attacks of September 11. Some gave their all. Today we honor their support and sacrifice.

May all who suffered the burden of terrorism both Nationally and Internationally find Solace and Peace. You will never be alone because we will always honor you.

The Rotary Club of El Paso will be hosting the 10th annual wine and food festival. The proceeds of the wine and food festival are used to fund charitable organizations such as Texas Build a Ramp, Rota Care, and Scholarship funds to name but a few. The festival features the city’s best restaurants and hundreds of wines to sample. Volunteers do not have to pay admission fees (tickets) and can participate in the event after their volunteer shift. Volunteers must be over 21 years old. Volunteers who participate in the festivities after their shift must drink responsibly and have transportation arrangements in place. The following are the event details.

Who: SAMC / WBAMC volunteers ( Open to everyone ) Age 21 and up only.

What: Support the El Paso Food and Wine Festival (Winefest)

Where: 208 E. Main St. El Paso Texas 79901

When: 21 October 2023 from 1000-1700

Uniform: Causal attire with Wine Fest shirt ( POC SFC Wagacha )

What are our volunteer tasks? Volunteers will assist in serving the food and wine at the venue.

Volunteers are able to choose their preferred shift to support.

The Elks Lodge El Paso Chapter has furniture for veterans in crisis. This furniture is free and no payment is required. If you know any veterans who are struggling to get back on their feet and need furniture, let SFC Wagacha know or send us a message. and we will assist with getting them linked up with the chapter.
