Benning Army Installation at Fort Benning, Georgia. Students who are enrolled at Loyd Elementar

y School are dependents of military personnel at Fort Benning, and the school is funded by the Department of Defense. Loyd ES is one of 10 schools in the Georgia/Alabama District of the Department of Defense Domestic Dependents' Elementary and Secondary Schools (DoD DDESS). The Georgia/Alabama District is under the direction of Dr. Christy Cabezas, Superintendent, and follows the directives, curricula, and guidelines of the umbrella organization of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). It is one of 7 schools located at Fort Benning and serves students in Pre-Kindergarten - 5th grade

Our PIE partners at WRBL News 3 and Kinetic Credit Union (as well as our military partners) made it possible for our panthers to say good bye with a smile. What other way than lip dubbing our daily morning song: HAPPY!

MEMORY LANE!
You may or may not know that Loyd pioneered the DoDEA Foreign Language in the Elementary School (FLES) program back in 2006. As part of our 2008 school-wide project, a COQUI FROG from 🇵🇷 was sent around the world. It visited EVERY inhabitable continent and over 12 countries. Here are the highlights from: South Africa, Iraq and China.

More pics will come as they appear because photographs back then were sent as hard copies and not emailed I(n their majority.) The fun was to receive the letters and open them up to read them to the kids. Yes, letters as in "paper and ink"! Keep your fingers crossed! These are amazing memories.

WOW! More memories sent our way! Remember when 203rd was our PIE partner for years on end? That's their magnet.

The other, was a magnet made for our presentation at the Chamber of Commerce on how we were a Gold Partnership with donations being limited to items of need, since we are a DoDEA school. Our PIE partners were worth their weight in gold!
