Today, 1st Battalion said farewell to Sergeant First Class Lewellen and First Sergeant Watkins. SFC Lewellen served as the primary marksmanship trainer in 1st Battalion for 3 years and participated in our last employment. 1SG Watkins served as the Alpha Company First Sergeant since last fall, participating in many training events including OCV. 1SG Watkins was also inducted into the Order of St. Michael for his distinctive service to the airborne community. Additionally, SFC Martinez was frocked from Sergeant First Class to First Sergeant, as he steps into the Alpha Company First Sergeant role. Farewell and good luck!

Last week, 1st Battalion Advisors participated in a live fire exercise to create combat readiness. The Advisors practiced maneuvering and fighting through enemy positions on a simulated battlefield. Great work to all!

Last week, Staff Sergeants Bierer and Greer were promoted to Sergeant First Class for their hard work, proficiency, and dedication to service! We also frocked Sergeant First Class Brantley to First Sergeant, allowing him to wear the rank fitting his position and responsibility! Congratulations to all!
