Easy Company trainees have been extremely busy the last couple of weeks! They executed a week of Combatives training and many of them earned Combatives Level 1 Certifications. The following week consisted of Buddy Team Live Fire, where the trainees engaged in their first live fire maneuver exercise. They learned to shoot, move, and communicate as a member of a team.

The trainees are currently in the middle of the Forge, which is the culminating field training exercise of the Basic Combat Training portion of OSUT. They will complete their 10 mile ruck march tonight, and earn the title of US Army Soldier.

The following post will contain information regarding final details about the Turning Green Ceremony on Friday.

Easy Company is wrapping up training week 6 today! Over the last few weeks, the trainees have been at the rifle range almost every day and night. They have grouped and zeroed their weapons and gone through numerous marksmanship tables to work up to a final record qualification using their CCOs. They also spent their first nights in the field learning patrol base operations and using night vision devices.

Today, they ended the week with an early 8 mile foot march to the range where they executed training with the M320, which is a 40mm gr***de launcher system. The trainees are excited to be one week closer to graduating the BCT portion of OSUT!

Easy Company is moving into their 4th week of training! Last week consisted of a great deal of time behind their individual weapon systems.

The trainees started off the week at the EST (Engagement Skills Trainer) which is a system designed to simulate live weapon training events. This is meant to give them familiarization with their M4 Rifles before firing any live rounds. The rest of the week was spent at live ranges, where they first spent 2 days grouping and zeroing their rifles using their back up iron sites (BUIS). The following day was spent at a LOMAH range (Location of Miss and Hit). The LOMAH system tracks rounds fired on or near targets in order to confirm that their weapons have an accurate zero. They also took their first ACFT (Army Combat Fitness Test) this week, and completed a 4 mile ruck march.

Thank you for your continued support. Train Hard, Fight Easy!
