I've been told to expect most soldiers to return home from the 27th to the 29th with a small detail (about 5 soldiers) coming back on the 31th. We still don't know exact dates and times but when we do someone from rear-detachement will contact you with that information.

I'm extending an invite to anyone who's interested in meeting at the Smith Gym pool Monday the 26th at 10am. This is not a formal meeting but more an excuse to get out of the house and meet up with other Alpha Company spouses. Come by yourself, bring your kids, or just stop by to say hi.

Sledgehammer Team-Soldiers, Family Members and Loved Ones- Your help is needed. I know you are excited for the return of our Soldiers but we have had some problems with speculation regarding the return of our Soldiers. Any discussion of return flights is a direct violation of security measures. You must put a stop to these conversations, particularly on social networking sites. YOUR actions have the potential to negatively impact your Soldiers return. During WWII we said that loose lips sink ships. Today, OPSEC violations can lead to your Soldier getting bumped to a later flight or the entire flight getting delayed. For example, posting things like-yah my Soldier will be home on Sunday- is too much. Help bring our Soldiers home safely.

Families of 3rd BDE:
I know all of you are getting excited to see your Soldier. As of right now, the plan is to have Rear Detachment call each Family member to let them know when your Soldier will be returning. Be patient though, you may get a phone call once the Soldier is on the plane, which means you might only have a 6 hour window of knowing your Soldier will be home. Please make sure that your FRSA for your Soldiers Battalion has accurate information for you to be contacted. Your Soldier will also have the opportunity to call you once out of the box. So, you may already know by the time Rear D contacts you. Also, remember that your Soldier will not be released to you the moment his plane lands. It may take two hours or more to turn in equipment and gain accountability for all Soldiers.
