To achieve the rank of a Field Grade Officer is an accomplishment that does not come lightly. CPT Brasher received her promotion to Major on Friday. In a room surrounded by her family and peers, we celebrated her hard work and dedication. MAJ Brasher is a Nurse Practitioner who fulfills Battalion Surgeon role. Though she primarily sees 3-54’s trainee and cadre population she often assist with medical needs across the 197th Brigade and Sand Hill. Her professionalism and knowledge plays a massive role in the health and welfare of our training population. Please help us in congratulating MAJ Brasher on her promotion!

The 3-54 Cadre has absolutely dominated this week with their successes.

We began the week with the 197th Battle of the Battalions. Our team participated in multiple physical fitness events consisting of 250-pound sled drag, 3 mile litter carry, farmers-carry, sprints, burpees, and chin-ups. They also were required to complete three weapon stations that covered various rifleman skills. The team ran a route that stretched across the 197th Brigade territory and ultimately led us to a victory.

A re-enlistment ceremony was conducted for SSG Morgan who resides with our Atlas Company. We thank him for his continued dedication and service to himself, his family, and the Battalion.

We wrapped up the week with some Battalion fun by hosting a Turkey Bowl where all companies participated in ultimate football. Companies competed in teams of 7, where the winner was HQ! We had some friendly competition that was concluded with coffee and doughnuts.

This week our companies have been hard at work mastering various soldier tasks.

Atlas Company, 3-54 Infantry Battalion, 197th IN BDE completed their Forge this week that led to their Turning Green. The Forge is a four-day event that finishes with a 10-mile foot march. The Turning Green is an important milestone in this journey that marks the transition from a Trainee to a Soldier. We thank all family and friends that traveled to help celebrate their new Soldiers.

Dog Company, 3-54 IN spent their week at the M4 range, honing the marksmanship skills required to graduate. These skills lay the foundation for basic soldering skills that they will continue to use in their careers.

Easy Company, 3-54 IN completed land navigation and practiced basic infantryman skills. They were tested on both topics and can be seen practicing their infantry skills prior to testing.
