Friends & Families of Easy Company,

Aplogies for the very limited communication via the facebook account. In the midst of my transition out of the seat as Commander of Easy Company we ran into unforeseen account access issues and could not post. I am posting on behalf of CPT Spencer Mckenzie the new Commander of Easy to ensure you all receieve the information required for your Soldiers' graduation.

With that said we look forward to seeing you all next in a week on 10 DECEMBER 25 as we celebrate your loved ones during the honored Turning Blue Ceremony to commemorate your soldiers becoming Infantrymen and receiving the coveted "Blue Chord". The turning blue ceremony will be conducted much the same as the turning green ceremony was. Same location and process to getting on base as you did during turning green. The major difference for this week however is the fact that the graduation ceremony will be held the following day on 11 DECEMBER 25 in a different location on Ft Benning. I will be posting again following this post on details regarding the graduation ceremony to avoid anyone confusing the two events.

Turning Blue Ceremony Begins

LOCATION:
Kanell Field, Fort Benning, GA 31905, USA
Directions for 24/7 Visitor Center Building 10603:
6065 Lindsay Creek Parkway
Fort Benning, GA 31905, USA

BASE ACCESS/VISITOR PASS:
1. Visit this link: https://home.army.mil/benning/About/gates-visitors
2. Follow the instructions on this page to request a visitors pass. When filling out the forms be sure to select "Visitor Pass" and NOT special events pass. We've had to many issues with the codes/ links given to us not working for the special events pass.
3. You will need to arrive at the visitor center first to be given your visitor pass to enter onto Fort Moore. I highly recommend coming a day prior to pick up your visitors pass at the visitor center. If you cannot come the day prior I would recommend getting to the visitor center 0800am EST to give you enough time to get the pass and get to the family day brief at 0930am EST.
4. Once your family & loved ones have been granted entrance follow the directions below to arrive at Kanell Field.
We recommend you download the app “GuideOn” from either the Google store, or Apple App Store for easy navigation to the ceremony. GuideOn is essentially a base guide that allows you to type in locations such as "Visitors Center" and "Kanell Field" and after selecting auto generates directions into the maps on your phone.

TURNING BLUE PASS POLICY:
1. Your soldier will be released directly from Kanell field on 10 DEC 25 following the ceremony. Please ensure that your soldier changes out of the uniform they will be in for the ceremony and back into their regular duty uniform (camouflage uniform you saw during turning green) following you leaving Kanell Field. Trainees will have to return the same day on Wednesday 10 DEC 25 NLT 1700! It is extremely important that they make it back by 1700 (5pm), there are no grace periods in the Army.
2. Reminder, the soldiers are NOT allowed to travel outside a 20 mile radius of the greater Columbus, GA area. Do not overthink this too much, I just want to ensure trainees are staying in the general area, and aren't galivanting to Atlanta, Savannah, other cities outside of the 20 mile radius considering they have to be back the same day.
3. Soldiers are NOT authorized to consume alcohol, to***co, ni****ne, smoke, or v**e while on pass.
4. Soldiers are NOT authorized to get tattoos while on pass.
5. Trainees must leave in uniform and return in uniform (OCPs only , NO PTs)
6. Soldiers are NOT allowed to operate any vehicle while on pass
7. Soldiers will NOT bring back any food, alcohol, ni****ne, to***co, and v**es. The soldiers will be inspected upon return for all such items, so it is highly recommended that you as the family pat your soldier down before they return. All of the things above to include food will be considered contraband.
8. Ensure your soldier is fed a meal before returning on Wednesday night, dinner chow will not be provided that night.

The policy above is will be put into an official memorandum signed by myself and is to be considered a direct order. Any violation of the above policy is subject to adverse action taken by myself in accordance with Army regulation and the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Any such violation could result unfavorable action to include separation from the United States Army.

Attached are graphics of the route to the visitors center from 185 to the visitors center located at the main gate to Kanell Field on Sand Hill.
Keep in mind your soldier will not be afforded the opportunity prior to turning blue to take pass.
Thank you and look forward to seeing you all at Turning Blue!

TOO EASY!

08/27/2025

To Friends and Family of Easy Company and Class 25-059.

My name is CPT Aidan Kidd, Company Commander of Easy Company, 3-54 Infantry Battalion, 197th Infantry Brigade. I am your trainee's commander, and I am overall responsible for them as well as the rest of their drill sergeants and cadre.

I would first like to apologize to friends and family of Class 25-059 for not updating the page as was promised in my welcome letter that I hope you received on Day 1. For clarity, due to DoD policies updates we were prevented from posting until policies were updated.

However, now that we’re back up and running, I will be making a weekly / bi-weekly post to give you all a little insight into what your trainee is doing on a weekly basis in regard to their training. I will give a brief explanation of what the trainees completed the previous week with attached pictures, as well as a heads up on what training they have the following week.

I will also ensure to provide you with information, updates, dates, times, locations, etc. on key events such as turning green (the completion of first portion of OSUT, Basic Combat Training, Trainees become Soldiers), and Graduation (completion of the entire OSUT course, Advanced Individual Training portion, Soldiers become Infantrymen).

Currently your trainees are in week 07 out of 22, and in 3 weeks time (pending they have met the necessary requirements) will turn green and officially be considered Soldiers at that point. At this point the trainees have completed an intensive 4 week progression of rifle marksmanship in which your trainees have qualified on their individually assigned weapon system, M4 Carbine. They were also familiarized with what it’s like to fire live rounds at night utilizing a night vision device. The week will finish with the completion of their Buddy Team Live Fire Exercise where trainees apply the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and individual movement techniques to negotiate a lane as a two pair battle buddy team.

Moving forward I will try to push out as many photos and information to you as possible. All that I ask is to please be mindful-- I'm the only one that has access to post on this page, and the high demands of my position require me to be in multiple places at once, take care of your trainees and my drill sergeants, plan for future classes, and execute the training events on a daily basis. As you can imagine, the addition of managing a page, and having the ability to respond to families of a class size of 231 is extremely challenging. That said I will do my best, but please do not take it personally if I don't respond to your comments. If there is an extenuating circumstance or emergency with your trainee, the facebook group is not the place to reach us. Please use the information provided in the welcome letter if there is a serious issue.

Thank you so much for your time, and if you have any questions please comment and like I said I will do my best to address them by either responding or in my next post to the rest of the group. Following this post will be another post addressing information regarding the Turning Green Ceremony.

Thank you!

Best Regards,
CPT Aidan C Kidd

LOCATION:

AFTER GRADUATION:

Following the graduation be advised that each soldier has a different path to take following the conclusion of OSUT. Due to this there are different groups that I want to highlight, and your soldier will fall into one of these groups. Your soldier will be told tomorrow 31 MAY 25 what group they fall into. Based on what group they're in will dictate what your travel plans are, and will help you and your soldier determine how long to rent a hotel, when to fly out, etc. That said, please wait until you hear from your soldier this Sunday 01 JUN 25 to book any reservations for hotels and transportation. The groups are as follows:

- National Guard: Will be released to leave immediately from the field following graduation to return to their home state and report back to their unit.

- Direct Ship: Soldiers that are set to report to their follow-on assignments in the coming days after graduation will be released from the field and afforded a 4 day pass immediately following the graduation. They will return back to the Easy Company CTA NLT 1800 (6pm EST) on that Sunday 22 JUNE 25.

- 14 Day Leave Population: Soldiers in this group will be released from the field after graduation and will go on leave to wherever they choose for the next 14 days. They will have to return to E Co CTA on 02 JULY 25 unless told otherwise. Their leave will not be charged, however they would have to cover the expense to travel (the Army will not cover their travel).

- Other: There will be another group of people that don't fall into the larger above categories and depending on their situation will be afforded either leave or pass. That said everyone will at the very least be released from the field after graduation and be allowed the 4 day pass as explained above.

NOTE:

If you cannot attend graduation ceremony, the National Infantry Museum will setup a live stream for you all to view the graduation from a mobile device / computer etc. When I get the link for the live stream I will be sure to post it on the page here for you all to access.

Thanks again for supporting your loved ones and Easy Company throughout this cycle. I look forward to seeing you all again on the 17th as we celebrate this momentous occasion!
