Special remembrance activities are offered at the Museum throughout the weekend.

Twenty-five years after America faced one of its darkest days on September 11, 2001, the National Museum of the United States Army’s new exhibit is highlighting the extraordinary stories of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers service, resilience, and engineering ingenuity.

Opened on Aug. 28, the Steel and Stone: Engineering the Response to 9/11 exhibit explores how USACE mobilized within the first few moments of the attacks to coordinate resources, restore critical infrastructure, and support the nation’s long-term rebuilding efforts.

25 Years Later ~ Remembering September 11, 2001

The Moment. The Service. The Resilience.

Today, we honor the memories of the souls lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the extraordinary courage, sacrifice and service of the military and civilian personnel who responded in the aftermath at the Pentagon, in New York City, and Shanksville, Penn.

Museum visitors have the opportunity to recognize the 25th anniversary today, and throughout the weekend, with a visit to the new exhibit, “Steel and Stone: Engineering the Response to 9/11,” creating a remembrance paper flower memorial, or joining an outdoor honor walk on Warriors’ Field.
