Commanders: TAP Starts With You

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) gives Soldiers a clear roadmap from 18 months out through separation, ensuring they’re fully prepared for their next chapter.

TAP covers:
• Individualized Initial Counseling
• Pre-Separation Counseling
• My Transition & MOS Crosswalk
• Financial Planning
• DOL Employment Fundamentals
• VA Benefits & Services
• Career Tracks
• Career Skills Program eligibility
• Capstone (required last)

Key Points:
• IIC must be completed NLT 365 days prior to separation
• Rapid transitions begin TAP immediately
• MEB Soldiers start TAP early
• Retirees can begin at 24 months out

Leadership engagement ensures Soldiers don’t rush through transition. When Commanders prioritize TAP, Soldiers gain stability, confidence, and access to the resources they deserve.

TAP is here. TAP is ready. Let’s set Soldiers up for success.

In times of uncertainty, know Army Emergency Relief is here for Soldiers and families. If you are facing economic stress, reaching out to your bank for assistance is a good first step but know AER is here with zero interest loans as well.

JUST IN: Belvoir Bugle Calls begin March 31

Beginning March 31, 2025, Fort Belvoir will join military installations worldwide in honoring the colors. Each weekday, Monday through Friday only, no weekends or holidays, the garrison will sound Reveille and Retreat through the Giant Voice System.

Reveille will sound at 7:00 a.m., marking the start of the duty day, while Retreat will sound at 5:00 p.m., marking its end. Taps will play at 9:00 p.m.

During Reveille and Retreat, service members outdoors should pause their activities and face the installation flag or the direction of the music if the flag is not visible. Those in uniform should render appropriate honors in accordance with service guidance and regulations.

To ensure the safety of our community members, drivers should remain in their vehicles and continue moving. Access control points will not stop vehicular traffic.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in maintaining the tradition and safety of our community.
