Good afternoon NWS Milwaukee partners. Just wanted to get a quick note out to you all regarding the postponement of the statewide tornado drill and our partner webinar.

1) The Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill that was scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) has been postponed to Friday.
2) Our NWS Milwaukee Spring Partner webinar that was scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) at noon has been postponed to next Thursday at noon (4/27). Registration link is the same: HERE

Details:
-Due to the chances for severe thunderstorms on Thursday, we, along with the Wisconsin Tornado Drill team, have decided to postpone the statewide tornado drill from Thursday to Friday. We want to avoid any confusion that could occur about whether or not a warning is legit or not.
-The weather will be fine on Friday, so I am expecting we'll be good to go to do the drill then.
-There will be a drill at 1:45pm and 6:45pm on Friday. We will send out a Routine Weekly Test over NOAA Weather Radio, which will also cover the normal weekly weather radio drill that we postponed today due to thunderstorms. So, there will not be a Noon Routine Weekly Test sent out on Friday, just the 1:45pm and 6:45pm messages.

-Partner webinar was moved due to us potentially being busy with severe weather at that time. The next available free spot was next Thursday.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

With the potential for more snow this week, its a great time to check those vents and outside utilities to make sure they are not getting blocked. Frozen gas meters or blocked furnace or dryer vents could caus your utilities to not function properly and may cause deadly carbon monoxide to enter your home.

Good Morning NWS Milwaukee Partners,

Here is an updated email regarding the severe weather across southern WI expected today .

Bottom Line Up Front
Heat Today:
Continue to expect heat to build through the afternoon with heat indices climbing to around 95°-102°F. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Lafayette, Iowa, and Green counties today.
Severe Thunderstorms Later Today:
Continue to see conditions come together as storms have already begun in southern Minnesota which will be what we watch going forward.
The environment will be very favorable in southern WI to support a line of severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening.
The main concern of damaging winds in excess of 70 mph remains with a few brief, short-lived tornadoes within the line of storms remaining possible. Overall severe risk for southern WI will be 3 out of 5.
Locally heavy rain and large hail will be possible as well, but the progressive nature of the storms and recent dry conditions may limit flash flooding concerns to urban areas and small streams.
What has changed?
Continue to see increased confidence on severe threat tracking through most of southern Wisconsin. However there is still some uncertainty on where exactly the strongest storms will track. Signs have also pointed to a quicker progression of storms and thus we have pushed arrival times a bit earlier.
