Monroe County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 9, due to the threat of severe weather. Staff and students will return on Wednesday, January 10.

10:20 p.m. Update: Monroe County Schools will be closed on January 9 due to the threat of severe weather.

Monroe County Schools attended a briefing with the National Weather Service today in reference to the forecast for Tuesday, January 9. The weather service says our biggest threat is the potential for heavy rain and strong winds. Based on the current forecast, we plan to hold school tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the storm and notify you of any changes.

In the meantime, please make sure your contact information is updated in Infinite Campus so we can reach you if necessary. We will use this information to call or text you if we make any adjustments to the school schedule. Also, download our Monroe County Schools app in the App or Google Play Stores, and make sure you enable notifications. It’s the fastest way for us to get urgent information to you.
