💜 September is Su***de Prevention Month 💜
For EMS, this one hits close to home.
First responders carry more than most people will ever see. They walk into chaos, trauma, grief, fear, and some of the worst moments of someone else’s life and they stay. They help people through it. Then they go home and face their own battles, their own stress, their own heartbreak, and sometimes their own darkest moments.
And still, they come back.
We cannot only talk about mental health after we lose someone. We have to check on our people while they are still here. We have to pay attention to the quiet ones, the strong ones, the ones who make everyone laugh, and the ones who always say they’re fine.
To every member of our Medical Jets family: you spend your days helping other people survive their worst moments. Please know that you deserve that same support when you are facing yours.
You are not just a call sign, a unit number, or the voice behind the mic saying “responding” after being dispatched to a scene that you already know may stay with you forever.
You can have your entire world falling apart at home, carry things personally that no one around you knows about, and still show up, put on the uniform, answer the call, and minutes later be the voice on the radio saying, “We got ROSC. Transporting.”
That is the part people don’t always see.
They see the uniform. They see the ambulance. They see you show up and do the job. They don’t always see what you carry when the shift ends, what follows you home, or what you may be fighting silently while still being the person everyone else depends on.
Please remember how important you are. Not just to this company. Not just to your partner or your crew. Not just because someone needs you to answer the next call.
You matter because you are you.
You are needed. You are valued. And we need you here.
If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988. 💜
