Welcome to Rebel Nation, Rebecca Alford!
Scott Central is excited to welcome Rebecca Alford to the Rebel family as a member of our English Department and Assistant Band Director for the Rebel Pride Band.
Mrs. Alford joins Scott Central after spending the past three years teaching English I and English III at Leake Central High School. She earned her Associate’s Degree from East Central Community College, her Bachelor’s Degree in English from LSU-Alexandria, and her Master’s in Teaching from Belhaven University.
A lifelong lover of English and literature, Mrs. Alford has always been passionate about helping students discover the power of reading and learning. Teaching runs deep in her family, as her parents met while her father was teaching English, making education a true labor of love. She is committed to inspiring students to develop a love for literature and a desire to be lifelong learners.
In addition to teaching English, Mrs. Alford will serve as Assistant Band Director, working alongside her husband, Jason Alford—better known throughout Scott Central as "Mr. Bandman"—to help lead the Rebel Pride Band and continue its tradition of excellence.
Outside of school, Mrs. Alford enjoys a variety of creative hobbies, including scrapbooking, diamond art, and cross-stitch. She also loves singing karaoke and spending time with her daughter, Alyssa, making memories on their many adventures together.
Mrs. Alford is excited to begin this new chapter at Scott Central and looks forward to building relationships with students, families, and colleagues while sharing her passion for education.
Please join us in giving Mrs. Alford a warm Rebel welcome!
