For the past five years, Deputy Fire Chief Halcome has hiked up Stone Mountain with over 300 other Firefighters and Police Officers in remembrance of 9-11 in semblance of the firefighters from New York City climbing the stairs of the Towers. This year was extra special, as eight team members from the Forest Park Fire & Emergency Services Departmentart decided to join him in the tribute to the fallen responders. We appreciated these extraordinary brave men and women for their courage and valiant show of respect.

Please join us as we remember a very special former member of the Forest Park Fire & Emergency Services Department. Mr. Bobby Taylor passed away yesterday in the comfort of family and friends. Known for his commitment to service, Mr. Taylor was a longtime firefighter who routinely showed his dedication, passion and expertise in the fire industry. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Maynard Baptist Church (1195 Juliette Rd., Forsyth, GA). Visitation with honors is scheduled for 3 p.m., with the service beginning at at 4 p.m.

Today, we remember John Clay Gaddy, a beloved member of the Forest Park Fire & Emergency Services who died in the line of duty from COVID-19 on Sept. 2, 2021. An amazing husband, father and grandfather, Gaddy was a 12-year veteran of the fire department who was known for his goofy sense of humor and kind heart. Described by many as someone who could be counted on for a listening ear and honest advice, his true passion was public service and mentoring others. May we always remember John Clay Gaddy.

☀️🚒 Even in the summer heat, our intense training never misses a beat! Team members with the Forest Park Fire & Emergency Services Department recently put their skills to the test with hands-on motor vehicle collision training. Our incredible emergency crews had the opportunity to practice:

🚗 Vehicle stabilization
🩺 Patient packaging
🚨 Victim removal and extrication

The goal? Secure the scene, protect the patient, and get the job done safely and efficiently. Every movement matters when seconds count. Check out some of the video footage from this month's training exercises.
