Today, dozens of residents and guests from throughout Clayton County joined city officials, as well as representatives from NASA Lifelines, for a special ceremony to unveil an exciting new community art mural project located in the heart of downtown. 🎨🌎🚀

Spearheaded by Councilmember Delores Gunn (Ward 2) and commissioned through NASA Lifelines, the beautiful public art piece can be found at 833 Forest Pkwy. and is publicly displayed outdoors on the former Eckerd/Rite Aid building, which is slated to become The Grapevine, a state-of-the-art food incubator featuring restaurant space, a coffee shop, event stage and flexible offices. Painted by former Forest Park resident and artist Richard Martin, the project aims to help bring awareness about the importance of Earth sciences, while also creating a public space that encourages innovation and community spirit.

With the completion of its new art piece, Forest Park now joins several other well-known cities that hold the distinction of having a NASA Lifelines mural, including Nashville, Washington, D.C., Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans, San Andrés and Bogotá. 🌎🎨✨

🎸🎬🍕 What do ’70s & ’80s classic rock, Jeepers Creepers 2 and a delicious Mexican pizza have in common? They’re all part of getting to know our fantastic team member, Yesenia Soriano! This month, we’re shining the employee spotlight on Yesenia, who currently serves as Clerk II and has been part of the Forest Park team for more than two and a half years.

What does Yesenia love most about working at Forest Park? She says it’s being part of the diversity and embracing different backgrounds, while also getting to see the transformation happening throughout our community and the envisioned future of Forest Park. 🌳✨

Thank you, Yesenia, for being a valued part of our team and for helping make Forest Park a place where diversity and contributions are embraced. ❤️
