Ray was the longtime Fire Chief of Chalfant VFD and a current member of Wilkins VFC #3. Please support Wilkins #3 as they help the Wroblewski family.

PLEASE READ THIS POST AND SHARE ASAP!!

Before our fish fry, at about 2:15, we had a devastating fire call to respond to, one of our own, Ray Wroblewski, had a fire at his house. We're not sure what happened and we're guessing it's a total loss. Ray is a life member of our department, as well as the previous Chief of Chalfant Fire department, station 120. His wife Eileen also played a key role in 120 for many years. They all got out ok except for a few pets.

We are going to be collecting for them:
Clothes (mens 4x-5x, women's 2x, young mens xl-2xl)
Gift cards (target, Walmart, Visa)
Meals
Grocery store gift cards
Cash
Comfort items (pillows, blankets, etc)
Toiletries
Phone chargers

Also,
As most of you know, at our weekly fish Fry's, we have a donation jar for our fire department. Next week's fish fry donations will all go to the Wroblewski family.

We're also working on possibly holding a raffle for them in the coming week to help out.

Anything helps. Please drop all donations at Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 located at 109 Powell St. East Pittsburgh, Pa 15112. If nobody is present, please send us a message on Facebook Messenger or please leave donations on our side porch where you enter in for the fish fry.

All help is so greatly appreciated.

Starting tomorrow, you can call 2-1-1 to request help with debris removal from your property. Additional information is below.

We continue to monitor the areas affected by storm damage in conjunction with the Forest Hills Police.

Please stay clear of any power or communication lines even if they seem harmless. Do NOT cut any trees that have any type of line going through it. Duquesne Light will pull those lines and let the Borough know when it is safe to remove trees and branches so that power can be restored.

Several roads are still not passable due to unsafe conditions, please stay away from blocked off areas. They are blocked for a reason.

We understand that this is a very frustrating time and it seems like things should move faster than they are. You have to remember that there are many damaged areas around us and they are all going through the same issues. It is a process and it takes some time.

Please report any new trees down or lines down by calling 911. If you see an unsafe condition, call 911.

NOTE: DPW will pick up debris left by the curb. Late Monday, a dumpster will be available in the Westinghouse Lodge Parking lot for spoiled food that you may need to get rid of.

See the below list of closed roads that was compiled by the Forest Hills Police. Duquesne Light has been in the area removing wires from down trees so that they can be cut. Additional roads should hopefully be opened soon.

Forest hills PD has provided a listing of roads that are closed. This is more complete than the map.

Since strong storms entered our area yesterday, the Forest Hills Volunteer Fire Department has responded to 58 incidents in Forest Hills and Chalfant.

The Mayor has issued a State of Emergency, and residents are strongly advised to stay home if possible and exercise extreme caution when going outside. Many roads are still impassable and could remain that way for some time.

Always assume downed wires are live and only use generators outdoors.

Please continue to dial 911 in case of an emergency.
