On June 27, Rapides Parish voters will see a parish-wide renewal measure on the ballot, and we want to make sure every family understands what it means.

This is a renewal, not a new tax.

Here's what this measure supports:
🚌 Fuel for our buses
💡 Utilities at every school
👩‍🏫 Salaries for the teachers and staff who serve our students
🏥 Hospitalization and insurance costs for our employees
🔧 Day-to-day building maintenance and facility needs

These are the everyday essentials that keep more than 21,000 students learning across our 42 schools. Renewing this measure keeps our current level of support in place. Nothing new is added to what our community already pays.

You'll find the exact ballot language in the graphic below.

Our FHJH administrators attended the Rapides Leadership Retreat this week kicking off the 2026–2027 school year!

This year’s retreat focused on strengthening school culture, growing leaders, supporting diverse learners, aligning our work, using data effectively, and finding innovative tools for engagement and communication. These sessions gave our team time to learn, reflect, and prepare for the year ahead.

We are excited to bring this work back to Forest Hill Junior High as we continue sparking purpose, fueling growth, and lighting the way for our students, staff, and community.

The 2026–2027 school year is already taking shape, and we can’t wait to see our Bulldogs back on campus soon!

Forest Hill Junior High is ready to ignite a new year of learning, leadership, and growth.

Our 2026-2027 theme, , is about recognizing the spark inside every Bulldog. We believe every student has the ability to grow, lead, create, serve, and achieve. Our job is to help fuel that spark through strong instruction, meaningful relationships, high expectations, and a school culture rooted in Respect, Honor, Responsibility, and Growth.

Throughout the year, we will focus on igniting curiosity in the classroom, igniting leadership in our students, igniting responsibility through our choices, and igniting growth as we work toward our goals.

At FHJH, we are not just starting another school year. We are sparking purpose, fueling growth, and lighting the way together.
