The town, approximately half a square mile, comprises approximately 2,500 residents and 945 homes that straddle both sides of Maryland Route 210 (Indian Head Highway), and is located near the Capital Beltway (I-
495), the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and National Harbor. Incorporated in 1949, the town’s governmental structure includes a mayor, six council members, a town attorney, a small police force, and a public works division.
