We are excited to share that the City of Forest Grove Light & Power Department has completed the first project funded through the Oregon Department of Energy's Grid Resilience Grant Program!

With the support of a $438,190 grant from the Oregon Department of Energy, we successfully undergrounded approximately two-thirds of a mile of primary electric distribution line along the Falcon Ridge corridor. This project strengthens the reliability of our electric system by protecting critical infrastructure from falling trees, severe weather, vehicle accidents, and wildfire risk.

This investment means:
• Fewer power outages for our customers
• Improved wildfire resilience
• Reduced vegetation management costs
• A stronger, more reliable electric system for years to come

Combined with previous work, we now have nearly three miles of underground distribution lines along this corridor. Projects like this are part of our ongoing commitment to investing in a safe, reliable, and resilient electric system for the Forest Grove community.

We are grateful to the Oregon Department of Energy for its partnership and investment in our community. Grant funding like this helps us complete projects that directly benefit our customers while keeping utility costs as affordable as possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success! Oregon Department of Energy

Recently, Forest Grove completed a project to move two-thirds of a mile of a main electricity line underground. Turning on the newly underground lines marked the first completed project through the Oregon Department of Energy’s Grid Resilience Grant Program .

Over the years, we have responded to dozens of vehicle crashes at the intersection of Highway 47 and Maple Street/Fern Hill Road. We've seen the messages and comments about the intersection needing to be changed and that is going to occur. The next step in the process is an Open House to see the design and timeline to bring a traffic light to the intersection.

The Open House is next Thursday, June 11th from 5pm to 7pm. It'll be held at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium (1915 Main Street). You can meet with representatives from Forest Grove City Hall, Washington County, Oregon and Oregon Department of Transportation.

Heads up! We've received some reports that there are individuals going door-to-door at residences and businesses claiming to be "following up on" an energy efficiency form that was included in the utility bill for those using Forest Grove Light & Power... In some cases, they even know the residents' name.
𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧!
No such form was sent in the utility bill or any sort of mailer from the City or Light & Power.

In these cases, the companies may actually be legit, but the tactic is a ruse and scammy... Essentially they're hoping you'll open the door by associating themselves with something that sounds official and by using your name.

Always be careful sharing any personal information with anyone going door-to-door selling a product or service, especially if they claim to be working with or on behalf of the city.

If you believe you may have given out personal information or concerned that you may have been scammed, give us a call through non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111.
