Heads up! We've received some reports that there are individuals going door-to-door at residences and businesses claiming to be "following up on" an energy efficiency form that was included in the utility bill for those using Forest Grove Light & Power... In some cases, they even know the residents' name.

No such form was sent in the utility bill or any sort of mailer from the City or Light & Power.

In these cases, the companies may actually be legit, but the tactic is a ruse and scammy... Essentially they're hoping you'll open the door by associating themselves with something that sounds official and by using your name.

Always be careful sharing any personal information with anyone going door-to-door selling a product or service, especially if they claim to be working with or on behalf of the city.

At approximately 4:03 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, about 5,000 Forest Grove Light & Power customers experienced a brief, momentary power outage.

The outage occurred when a tree made contact with Bonneville Power Administration power lines in the McMinnville area. The affected line automatically isolated the fault, and power was restored to all Forest Grove customers in approximately 30 seconds.

🚧 Outage Update – David Hill Road 🚧

Forest Grove Light & Power crews are responding to a tree down on David Hill Road. The tree has taken down power lines and damaged crossarms.

• David Hill Road is currently closed
• All customers on David Hill Road are without power
• Crews are actively on scene making repairs

At this time, restoration is expected in the early morning hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as our crews work hard and safely to restore power and reopen the roadway.

Power Outage Update – Forest Grove Light & Power

We are aware of the current power outage affecting parts of Forest Grove. At this time, we have lost our BPA (Bonneville Power Administration) source feeds from both the south and the west. Our crews are actively working to backfeed the system from the east to restore service where possible.

There are also multiple trees down throughout the area, which is contributing to additional outages and impacting restoration efforts.

All crews are active, fully staffed, and working as safely and quickly as conditions allow.

⚡️Power Outage Update October 25, 10:53 a.m.⚡️

A tree is down just outside the Forest Grove Substation on Oak Street, causing a power outage affecting approximately 600 customers.

Our Light & Power crews have responded and are actively working to restore power. Service will be restored in phases, and we expect all customers to be back online within the next hour.

We believe a lightning strike on a Bonneville Power transmission line caused tonight’s brief outages. Two of our three substations were impacted, but protective equipment worked as designed, and power was quickly restored.
