Registration for next week's Beaded Bracelets program opens today!

Come and join us next Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 AM or 3:00 PM to make some wearable art for your arm using colorful pony beads!

Registration is required and space is limited. Please come in or call the library at 828-248-5224 to register. This program is intended for children ages 4 to 14.

**Disclaimer: If your plans change after registration and you are unable to attend this program, please let us know so we may offer your spot to another family. No call/no showing for library programs will result in your being automatically waitlisted when registering for our events in the future.

Come and join us for some hee-hawsome fun at a Donkey Hodie-themed story hour here at the library!🫏

We'll watch, play, explore, and share together during an hour of hands-on, educational activities based on Donkey Hodie. This program is intended for children ages 3 to 7.

The library's Summer Reading Challenge begins today, and children ages 3 to 18 are invited to join us for a summer of reading and rewards! 📚🦖🦕

Visit the library beginning today to register for the challenge and receive a bag of goodies and a reading log!

📚 HOW TO TRACK YOUR READING
Summer reading participants are asked to read for 20 minutes as often as they can. Each time you complete a 20 minute reading session, fill in one white circle on your reading log.

📚 WHAT CAN I READ?
Anything and everything! You can read books from the library or from home, fiction, nonfiction, ebooks, picture books, graphic novels, audiobooks and more!

📚 REWARDS & PRIZES
Children will earn a small prize for each milestone (100 minutes) they reach on their log. Everyone who fully completes their log (500 minutes) will receive a certificate, one raffle entry for the Grand Prize Giveaway, and a special ticket for entry to the library's Finale Party on July 31st at the Forest City Clubhouse. Multiple logs are encouraged to earn more raffle entries.

Summer Reading Program 2026 begins next week! Mark your calendars because we’re preparing for a dino-mite summer here at Mooneyham Public Library! 🦖🦕🌴🪏⛏

This year, the nationwide theme for the Summer Reading Program is “Unearth a Story.” Join us this summer as we learn, create, and have lots of fun!

🦖 Registration for the library’s Summer Reading Challenge begins on June 1st. Please stop by the library to register and pick up a reading log. The reading challenge is open to ages 3 to 18.

🦖 All of the public libraries in Rutherford County will be present at the Summer Reading Kickoff at POPS on June 8th. Come check out all of the programs and activities each library will be offering this year!

🦖 The opening dates for program registration are listed on each of the flyers below. Registration is NOT needed for the Summer Reading Kickoff or Tiny Tot Tuesdays.

🦖 The Dinosaur Egg Excavation program will be held at James F Crowe Park. The address is 267 Crowe Park Drive, Forest City, NC 28043.
