I wanted to take a moment to highlight the important work being done by Fulmont Community Action Agency.

Since 1965, Fulmont has been helping individuals and families throughout Montgomery County and the surrounding region access resources and services that promote self-sufficiency and opportunity. Their dedicated staff and volunteers make a real difference in the lives of many of our residents.

Their programs include Head Start and Universal Pre-K, WIC services for women, infants and children, energy assistance and weatherization programs, emergency food and clothing assistance, and much more.

As we recognize Pride Month, I want to reaffirm a simple principle: every resident of Montgomery County deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Montgomery County is strengthened by the diversity of the people who live, work, and raise their families here. This month provides an opportunity to recognize the contributions and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals while reflecting on the importance of creating a community where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Our county is strongest when all residents feel safe, respected, and supported. This month, and throughout the year, let us continue working together to ensure Montgomery County remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Great conversation yesterday during the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council meeting held at the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie. It's always great to hear about what's going on in the economic development world and learn about new opportunities on the horizon.

Congratulations to the Amsterdam High School Boys Basketball Team. The Montgomery County Legislature was proud to recognize the team tonight for making school history as the first team in more than three decades to compete in the NYSPHSAA Class AA State Championship.
