🌿 HEREFORD MANOR LAKE PROPERTY UPDATE 🌿

Franklin Township continues to make great progress toward the acquisition and preservation of the Hereford Manor Lake property!

The Township currently has an agreement with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to purchase approximately 392 acres for $470,400.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our residents, local businesses, and surrounding communities, we have received over $39,806 in donations. We are also extremely grateful to the Beaver County Sportsman’s Conservation League for committing $100,000 toward the project, along with the $300,000 grant previously secured by the Township.

Our goal is to preserve this property as public greenspace for future generations, providing opportunities for recreation, wildlife habitat preservation, watershed protection, and environmental education.

💚 Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported this effort! Every contribution, large or small, helps move this important project forward.

Those wishing to contribute may make checks payable to Franklin Township, designated for the Hereford Manor Lake Property. Donations to Franklin Township for public greenspace may be tax-deductible under Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code for those who itemize deductions. Donors should obtain written acknowledgment from the Township and consult a tax professional regarding eligibility.

🌳 Volunteers Wanted – Franklin Township Parks & Recreation Committee 🌳

The Franklin Township Board of Supervisors is looking for volunteers to serve on our newly established Parks & Recreation Committee!

This committee will help shape the future of parks, trails, recreation, community events, and open space in Franklin Township. Members will also have the opportunity to assist with grant opportunities, fundraising, and planning for Franklin Township Community Park and the future Hereford Manor Lakes property, which the Township is working to acquire from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to preserve as permanent green space for future generations.

The committee will consist of seven volunteer members and will meet at least quarterly.
