PG&E will begin utility work along Greenback Lane on Thursday, September 17, with traffic impacts expected near the Greenback Lane and Folsom Boulevard intersection. The permitted work is expected to continue for approximately six weeks.

Drivers should expect lane reductions and delays in the area. At different times during the project, traffic may be reduced to one through lane on portions of westbound and eastbound Greenback Lane and northbound Folsom Boulevard near the intersection.

Work is scheduled during daytime and nighttime hours, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Message boards will be placed in the area beginning Monday, September 14, to alert motorists of upcoming traffic impacts.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Hey Folsom, a fresh look is coming to City Hall and other familiar city buildings! A new coat of paint will help protect these community spaces for years to come.

Glow Up Incoming!

At the September 8 City Council meeting, Parks & Recreation staff received approval for a painting contract that will refresh and protect several City facilities, including City Hall, the Police Station, Community Center, Public Library, Parks Maintenance Shop, and Fire Stations 35 and 37.

While a fresh coat of paint will give these buildings a visual upgrade, this project is about much more than appearance. Many of these facilities are more than 30 years old, and some still have their original exterior paint. Over time, deteriorating exterior coatings can leave buildings more vulnerable to weather and water intrusion, potentially leading to costly repairs.

This investment in preventive maintenance will help protect these important public facilities from the elements, extend the life of existing building materials, and reduce the potential for more expensive repairs in the future.

The City Council approved $220,000 for the project, including a 10% contingency, funded with remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Keep an eye out for a fresh new look at these City facilities!

The City of Folsom is hard at work preparing roads and storm drainage systems for the winter rainy season. Several priority maintenance and repair projects are underway to help reduce the risk of localized flooding, improve drainage, and keep roadways safe during wet weather.

Work includes:

🌿 Clearing creeks and culverts in the Iron Point Road area.
🔧 Repairing a storm drain on Glenn Drive between School Street and Wales Drive.
💧 Addressing drainage concerns on Folsom Auburn Road south of Folsom Lake Crossing.
🛣️ Evaluating pavement depressions on Blue Ravine Road and Iron Point Road.

Residents may see crews and temporary traffic controls at these locations as work progresses. Drivers are asked to use caution around work zones and allow crews room to work safely.
