⚠️ Folsom Fire has been busy the last few days responding to multiple calls involving downed power lines and fallen trees due to recent weather conditions. Please remember these important safety tips if you encounter downed power lines:

🚫 NEVER touch a downed power line — always assume it is live and dangerous.

⚡ Stay at least 30 feet away from any downed line, including anything it may be touching such as trees, fences, puddles, or vehicles.

📞 Report downed power lines immediately by calling 911 and your local utility company.

🚗 If a power line falls on your vehicle, stay inside if possible and wait for emergency responders unless there is an immediate danger such as fire.

🌳 Use caution around fallen trees and limbs, especially after storms, as they may be tangled with energized lines.

💡 Slow down and stay alert while traveling, especially on back roads and wooded areas where hazards may be harder to see.

🐴❤️ WVUE FOX 8 Visits New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center ❤️🐴

Fox 8 recently visited New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center to highlight their incredible Veterans and First Responder programs right here in Folsom!

Folsom FD Captain Adam Shields, Folsom PD Officer Patrick Fair, Veteran program Participant/Volunteer Juliet LeBlanc, and program Director Vicki Eiland had the pleasure of speaking with Fox 8 News Anchor Lauren McCoy as she showcased these amazing programs that provide veterans and first responders with a safe place to unwind, relax, and heal alongside horses.

These programs are making a real difference in the lives of those who spend their days serving others, and we are proud to see the spotlight shine on such an incredible organization in our community.

The Folsom Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Part Time Firefighter/Operator positions!

▪️ Firefighter 1 Certification
▪️ Driver Operator Experience , Certification preferred
▪️ Must be able to pass a background check
▪️ EMR or Higher Certification
