β οΈ Folsom Fire has been busy the last few days responding to multiple calls involving downed power lines and fallen trees due to recent weather conditions. Please remember these important safety tips if you encounter downed power lines:
π« NEVER touch a downed power line β always assume it is live and dangerous.
β‘ Stay at least 30 feet away from any downed line, including anything it may be touching such as trees, fences, puddles, or vehicles.
π Report downed power lines immediately by calling 911 and your local utility company.
π If a power line falls on your vehicle, stay inside if possible and wait for emergency responders unless there is an immediate danger such as fire.
π³ Use caution around fallen trees and limbs, especially after storms, as they may be tangled with energized lines.
π‘ Slow down and stay alert while traveling, especially on back roads and wooded areas where hazards may be harder to see.
Our crews are working hard alongside utility workers to keep the community safe. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Stay safe, Folsom! π
