🚲🛴 Summer Safety Reminder from the Ridley Township Police Department ☀️

With warmer weather here and more residents enjoying bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, and other micromobility devices, we want everyone to stay safe and know the rules before heading out.

Please take a moment to review the attached PennDOT PA Micromobility Information Sheet, which explains important requirements including:
✅ Age restrictions
✅ Where devices can legally be operated
✅ Helmet and lighting requirements
✅ Passenger rules
✅ Registration and insurance requirements (when applicable)
✅ DUI laws and PA Vehicle Code regulations
Parents — please talk with your children about safely operating bikes, scooters, and e-bikes.

Always:
🔹 Wear proper safety equipment
🔹 Obey traffic laws and signs
🔹 Watch for vehicles and pedestrians
🔹 Use lights when required
🔹 Ride responsibly and respectfully

Our goal is for everyone to enjoy the summer months while keeping our neighborhoods, roadways, and sidewalks safe.

The Ridley Township Police Department would like to proudly congratulate Corporal Leo Doyle on being selected as a recipient of the John J. Duffy Professional Service Award at the 24th Annual Greater Philadelphia Community Awards Breakfast.

This distinguished award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to combating addiction through prevention, education, advocacy, and public service.

Corporal Doyle’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to helping others extend far beyond traditional law enforcement. Through his service, leadership, and compassion, he continues to make a positive impact on individuals, families, and the Ridley Township community.

His efforts represent the highest values of the Ridley Township Police Department and demonstrate the importance of building trust, offering support, and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you to all of the current officers, surrounding departments, retired officers, and the Pennsylvania State Police for the assistance with our annual Safety Picnic. This event, which is organized by Sergeant Dennis Valerio and Amosland Teacher Jen Gavin, and sponsored by the Ridley Township Police Association, is a fun day and a celebration of all of our school's safeties.
