☀️ HEAT ADVISORY — DANGEROUS HEAT THIS WEEK
A Heat Advisory is in effect for southern Indiana from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening, with temperatures climbing into the mid-to-upper 90s and heat index values potentially reaching 100–107°F.
The heat will build through the middle of the week, and conditions could remain dangerously hot into Friday.
During this stretch of extreme heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks.
🌳 Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
❄️ Spend time in air conditioning whenever possible.
👵 Check on older adults, children, neighbors, and anyone without reliable cooling.
🚗 Never leave a child, vulnerable adult, or pet in a parked vehicle — even for a few minutes.
👷 If you work outside, use shade, hydration, and regular rest periods.
Warm overnight temperatures will also limit how much relief we get between hot days, so take the heat seriously even if you normally tolerate summer weather well.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and keep an eye on updated forecasts from the National Weather Service in Louisville.
