The Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Sheriff's Administrative Assistant and Telecommunicator Supervisor. This high-responsibility civilian position acts as the primary gatekeeper and confidential liaison for the Sheriff and Command Staff. This role involves leading dispatchers, managing critical control standards, and bridging communications between the public and deputies/officers. Responsibilities include strict compliance with operational protocols, dispatching and logging calls, handling sensitive files and internal affairs documents, and community relations. Must be able to thrive in a moderate-paced setting, demonstrate COMPLETE discretion, and have proven experience in supervision.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Licensed and in good standing with TCOLE as a telecommunicator
Clear communication skills
Must pass a physical examination, psychological evaluation, and criminal background.
Preferred:
5+ years of experience as a Telecommunicator or a Master Telecommunicator
Strong knowledge of Telecommunications system, Radio and telephone operations, Computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, Emergency communications procedures, Applicable federal, state,and local regulations.
