Flower Mound Fire Engine 343 Restoration Project 1942 model 75 Mack Fire Truck. The Volunteer fire department a long time ago bought a 1942 model 75 Mack fire truck from the Army. It's call sign was "343".

It was the first fire truck Flower Mound ever had. The years have been hard on the old engine but it is our goal to restore the old engine to parade condition again. One of the most unique things about this unit was it's call sign. While in service, serving the community of Flower Mound, TX. As you know this number has a special place now as that is the same number of firefighters that were lost at the World Trade Center on 9/11.

So much chrome! This week I was elated to discover we had all of these Engine 343 parts safely stored at one of our fire stations. A big thanks to whomever had the forethought of removing these prior to its stent in the pasture for all those years. This stuff is mint! I’ll share more details in the coming weeks as I rummage through these and take inventory.
