Tonight is National Night Out and both Homewood and Flossmoor have all kinds of fun things to do.

Flossmoor's National Night Out and Touch a Truck
5-8 pm

Join the Village of Flossmoor for a night of free fun with our Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments in the Village and IJP School parking lots! Enjoy kids' games and refreshments, learn how police and fire departments use their specialized equipment, and explore the Public Works Department vehicle fleet with a Touch a Truck experience!

Homewood's National Night Out
5-8 pm

Join the Village of Homewood and the Homewood Police Department at Irwin Park! There will be a DJ, food vendors, games & prizes, public safety displays, free face painting, free balloon twisting, and MORE! Bring those rubber duckies you found for a prize!

The Millennium Park Splash Pad will also be open 10 am–12 pm, 2–4 pm, and 6–8 pm until August 14 when the hours will be 1-5 pm.

Get your pooch prepped for next week's TRAILHOUNDS.
Monday, August 7 • 7 pm • Indian Trails Park

Friendly canines of all ages, sizes, and breeds are welcome for these FREE on-leash walks. Socializing and being active are just some of the benefits. Walkers will also receive tips about exercising with your pets. Participate whenever you like; no registration is needed. Be sure to bring water for yourself and your dog. Weather permitting as this is an outdoor event.

The tennis courts at Pheasant Trails Park are being resurfaced. As a result, they will be closed until further notice.

The courts at Flossmoor Hills Park will also be closed as they are also undergoing resurfacing and will be converted to pickleball courts.

If you are looking for outdoor tennis courts, there are still places to play at Orchard Park, Flossmoor Park, and Lions Club Park.

Explore all things bubbles this Sunday at BUBBLE-OLOGY.
July 30 • 10-11 am

Dance in bubbles, make a giant bubble, create a bubble snake, stand inside a giant bubble and explore many other exciting bubble activity stations. Please wear clothes that can get soapy and wet and bring a towel. Pre-registration is required. A non-paying adult must accompany child.

Teens entering 6th - 8th grade at Parker Junior High, James Hart Middle School, and Infant Jesus of Prague are invited to swim after hours at Lions Club Pool!

Teens must provide emergency contact information. An adult must pick up and sign out teens after the event.
A DJ will be on site and concessions will be open all night.

Fee: $7 at the door

BABYSITTERS TRAINING
Saturday, August 26 • 9 am-4 pm

A one-day class that focuses on providing youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly provide care for children and infants in the absence of parents. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe; help children behave; and learn about basic childcare and basic first aid. Certification for this class includes a participant workbook, training materials as well as an American Red Cross Babysitters Training certificate. Attendance is required for the entire day to receive certification. Any exceptions need to be approved in advance by the instructor. Lunch will be taken around noon.
