🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

* UPDATE 1:51 PM
All lanes are now open.

*UPDATE 10:28am

Southbound Highway 181 will remain closed for an extended period of time due to the ongoing accident investigation.

Northbound Hwy 181 has one lane closed at Shady Oaks Ct.

TXDOT and emergency personnel will be setting up a closure at Highway 181 and Cimarron Drive diverting southbound traffic back to 1604.

This closure is expected to last several hours.

Please avoid the area and drive with caution if you have to travel near the scene.

First Responders are currently working a major accident at US Hwy 181 N and Shady Oaks Ct.

Both northbound and southbound lanes are currently shut down from FM 775 northbound into Bexar County while they work to clear the accident. At this point it is estimated the highway will be shut down for several hours while DPS conducts its crash investigation.

Please use caution and find alternate routes. A news release will be issued as more information develops.

Feel Good Friday!

Twenty-three years ago, Sgt. Drzymala took a burglary report from Mr. Pineda after a firearm was stolen from his home.

Today, thanks to the hard work of our CID investigators, Sgt. Drzymala was able to personally return that stolen firearm to Mr. Pineda after it was recovered in San Antonio.

While many stolen fi****ms unfortunately go unreported, this case is a perfect example of why reporting stolen property is so important. Even decades later, a report can help reunite owners with their property and aid investigators in solving crimes.

A great outcome and a reminder that good police work can make a difference, no matter how much time has passed.

🏐 The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office First Responder Dodgeball Tournament is approaching quickly!

We’re excited to announce we already have over a dozen teams signed up and ready to compete! From law enforcement to fire and EMS, and other local first responders will be hitting the court for a fun evening of friendly competition, all while supporting a great cause.

We’d love to see our community come out and cheer on your favorite teams! Bring your family, bring your friends, and come enjoy the fun with us.
