Lauderdale County Children's Policy Council The Lauderdale County Children's Policy Council is a non-profit organization under the leadership of the Juvenile Court Judge.

We are an active council with quarterly meetings. The LCCPC is also composed of six supportive and energetic committees. They are: Economic Security Committee, Education Committee, Health Committee, Parent Involvement Committee, SAVE Committee, and Smart Start Committee. The committees work diligently in their respected areas of interest to achieve the goals of the CPC.

🌟 Big feelings can be hard for little people. 🌟

That’s why, beginning June 18, we’re excited to offer Little Feelings, Big Skills, a fun and interactive 6-week group designed for children ages 5–6!

Through games, activities, creativity, and play, children will learn:
❤️ How to identify and express feelings
💛 Listening and teamwork skills
💚 Positive ways to handle frustration and big emotions
💙 Friendship and social skills
💜 Calming strategies they can use every day

Building emotional skills early can help children feel more confident, connected, and successful at home, school, and with friends.

The Healing Place is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting Camp Erin Northwest Alabama again this year!

Camp Erin Northwest Alabama will take place on July 24th and will be open to children ages 6-17! Children will have the opportunity to take place in a camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities.

⭐️About Camp Erin®: Camp Erin® Northwest Alabama is a free bereavement camp for youth grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Children and teens ages 6 to 17 attend an all day long camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving. We’re hiring a Boys Home House Parent (Live-In Position) in Sheffield, AL.
This is not a typical 9–5 job. It’s a full-time, live-in role for someone who truly has a heart for helping young men who need structure, guidance, and consistency.

What you’ll be doing:
• Living on-site in a provided apartment
• Caring for and supervising up to 8 boys
• Creating and managing daily schedules (school, appointments, activities)
• Transporting youth to school, court, medical appointments, etc. (company van provided)
• Supporting behavior management and emotional regulation
• Being a consistent, positive adult role model

Compensation & Benefits:
• $35,000/year
• Housing provided (live-in apartment)
• Company vehicle for transportation
• Benefits included

What we’re looking for:
• Experience working with children is REQUIRED
(retired teachers, childcare workers, foster parents strongly encouraged to apply)
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license
• Able to pass background check & drug screening
• Someone patient, structured, and dependable
Important to know before applying:

This is a 24/7 live-in role. You will be responsible for maintaining structure and routine for the home.
You receive 1 weekend off per month.

This role is best suited for someone who is:
• Called to this type of work
• Comfortable with structure and responsibility
• Passionate about making a real difference in young lives
