📢 Our call is clear: Public funds belong in public schools! And we must ensure that all children can thrive in the classroom.

In the past decade, private school voucher spending across the U.S. has exploded — without regard for the detrimental effects on students, families and communities.

Celebrating Juneteenth!

Today we honor the over 150 legacy of Juneteenth.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Black communities have carried that moment forward through generations of celebrations filled with music, food, storytelling, faith, family, and a commitment to building a more just future.

Today we carry forward the Spirit of Jubilee and Liberation. For those who fought for freedom, for those who continue the work today, and the joy, brilliance, and strength of Black communities.

Today we celebrate.Today we remember. Today we continue building toward a future where freedom and belonging are shared by all.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, it serves as both a remembrance of that history and a celebration of Black life, culture, and liberation.
