🚧 Attention Gresham Rd, Hough Rd, and Florence Blvd 🚧 TVA will be pulling new transmission lines across the listed roads tomorrow morning. Road Closures should last short periods and are anticipated to be completed by 0830a. TVA helicopters will be assisting the transmission lineman.

Six members of Florence Fire & Rescue recently completed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) training, further enhancing the department’s Advanced Life Support (ALS) capabilities and our ability to provide advanced pre-hospital care to the citizens of Florence.

Through this training, firefighters gained critical skills including IV therapy, advanced airway management, medication administration, and advanced patient assessment. This continued investment in training strengthens our emergency medical response and helps ensure the highest level of care is available when it matters most. With the completion of this program, Florence Fire & Rescue now has 18 AEMT-certified firefighters, representing a significant step forward in our ongoing effort to expand advanced medical services throughout our community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Northwest Alabama RC&D Council for funding this important training opportunity. Their support plays a vital role in helping us enhance public safety and improve patient care for the citizens we are honored to serve.
