Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication secured freedoms we often take for granted, and we are forever grateful.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause to reflect on those who gave everything for the communities and nation we call home. 🇺🇸

We are excited to announce that United Way of Northwest Alabama and 211 of Northwest Alabama will soon launch the Dress for Success Clothing Closet — a new referral-based program designed to help individuals prepare for employment and other important opportunities by providing free professional and work-related clothing.

We are currently accepting donations of very gently used professional attire, scrubs, steel-toe boots, restaurant shoes, hangers, and more every Tuesday and Wednesday.

We were so fortunate to have Millie-Claire Woodard intern with us at United Way of Northwest Alabama during her senior year at the University of North Alabama.

Millie-Claire does everything with a smile on her face and brings one of the most positive attitudes you could ever hope to be around. From helping plan Witches Ride, to picking up mail, to writing thank you notes, she has been an absolute joy to have on our team.

We will miss you so much, Millie-Claire, and we know you are destined for greatness. Thank you for all you brought to United Way of Northwest Alabama.

Thank you to North Alabama Shoals Hospital for stepping up to the plate for our community! ⚾️💙

We love seeing creative, fun ways to support the work happening across Northwest Alabama, and this Hospital Week dunk tank fundraiser definitely put the FUN in fundraising! Huge thanks to the Shoals Hospital team and leadership for being such great sports while raising funds for local impact through United Way of Northwest Alabama.

Special shoutout to COO Braxton Holloway for taking one for the team… repeatedly. 💦👏

We were proud to join for the R E Thompson Intermediate Career Fair and share how 2-1-1 works every day to connect people with help and hope across our communities.
