Ms. Maurits’ and Mr. Pearcys’ Ancient World Civilization classes have been studying the Paleolithic Age and learned about how the people of the time communicated through cave are. With that, they also learned how social scientists believe that the Paleolithic people left their signature with their handprint and drew about significant things in their life. To re-create this, the sixth graders of Jones made their own handprints and inside drew about a significant item to them for their transition to 6th Grade.

We kicked off our very first Fun Friday with a 🎤 Grab the Mic Challenge—and let’s just say our students and staff brought the energy! 😄🙌

✨ First Day Recap! ✨

And just like that… the 2026–2027 school year is officially underway! 💚💛✈️

What a day! New faces, familiar faces, lots of smiles, a few nerves, and SO much excitement filled the halls of Jones Middle School today. We are incredibly proud of the way our Jets showed up and started this year together.

Here’s to a year full of growth, learning, new opportunities, big dreams, and endless possibilities. We know there is a bright future ahead, and we can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

Thank you to our incredible staff, students, and families for helping us kick off an amazing year. The best is yet to come!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out tonight! We loved seeing so many of our students, families, and community members and are so excited for another incredible year at Jones Middle School! ✈️

We have Open House tonight from 4 p- 7 p. It is a come and go event with many interest points.

We already have the “In Plain Sight” Trailer here! It is an educational display for 21 year old and older adults. It is also airconditioned.

You do not have to have a student at Jones to walk through the trailer!
