On Saturday, our crew had the pleasure of visiting Florence Baptist Church. Their events coordinator had previously visited the station and recruited one of our team members to judge the Chili Cook-Off—Our crew can handle structure fires, but a spicy chili? That’s where things get competitive.

Today, the church honored us with a beautiful handmade gift created by one of their members. We are truly grateful for the kindness, hospitality, and partnership.

This morning's vehicle accident response to Florence Kelvin and Diffin was a real-world reminder of why continuous training matters. Our crews used their extrication skills to safely assist those involved. Proud of the hard work behind the scenes that prepares us for moments like these.

Florence Fire & Medical responded to a fire this morning, and thanks to coordinated efforts on scene, everyone remained safe with no injuries.

We want to give heartfelt recognition to Officer Hank. His quick, confident action was instrumental in protecting those involved, and we’re deeply grateful for his commitment to our community. Today also marks Hank’s last day with the department, and his steady leadership on this morning’s call is a perfect reflection of the dedication he’s shown throughout his service.

We’d also like to acknowledge Firefighter Short, who responded to his first fire with the department today. Great work stepping into action and supporting the team.

Today we’re celebrating a big milestone for Firefighter Colton — he officially completed his one‑year probationary period.

We like to have a little fun with these moments, but behind the jokes is real pride. He stuck with the program, pushed himself, learned everything he could, and proved himself as a valued member of this team. Watching him grow into a confident, capable firefighter has been a reminder of what dedication — and a strong crew behind you — can accomplish.

We’re proud of you, brother.
