đź’ˇ Did You Know? You May Be Eligible for Medicaid Reimbursement for Home Care Services.
Applying for Community Medicaid with home care services can take time, and it's not uncommon for applicants to wait several months before services begin.
If, during that waiting period, private home care services were provided through a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) and paid for by someone other than the applicant or the applicant's spouse, you may be eligible to apply for partial or full reimbursement through Medicaid, depending on your circumstances.
Keep in mind: Medicaid will generally reimburse only for the number of home care hours it ultimately approves. For example, if you paid for 12 hours of care each day but Medicaid approved only 4 hours per day, reimbursement will typically be based on the approved 4 hours—not the full amount paid.
If you have questions about whether you may qualify for reimbursement or need help navigating the Community Medicaid process, we're here to help.
