Today, we recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Women Veterans. Women Veterans Recognition Day honors 250 years of women’s service to our nation and commemorates the 78th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, which granted women a permanent place in the U.S. military. From the Revolutionary War to today’s military operations, women have served with courage, dedication, and resilience in roles ranging from nurses and intelligence specialists to pilots, combat leaders, and beyond. Their service has strengthened our armed forces and helped shape our nation’s history.
At Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, we are proud to serve the women who have served our country. Our Women’s Health Program provides comprehensive, personalized care for women Veterans of all ages, including:
• Ultrasounds, mammograms, Pap and HPV tests
• Mental health care and counseling
• Lifestyle wellness services
• Menopause treatment, including hormonal therapy
• Family planning, contraceptive care, and infertility evaluation
Did you know only 44% of women Veterans are enrolled in VA health care? Many women Veterans are missing out on the benefits and low- or no-cost care they have earned through their service. If you are a woman Veteran, it’s never too late to enroll and access the care you deserve. Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks is committed to supporting the health, welfare, and dignity of women Veterans and their families through timely, sensitive, and high-quality care.
