Flint's Community Education Initiative offers key services and resources in Flint. The Community Education Initiative is a Flint Community School district-wide strategy to establish public schools as neighborhood hubs, helping to create stronger families, healthier neighborhoods, higher performing schools and higher rates of student academic achievement and success. The Crim Fitness Foundation ser

ves as the lead agency to implement Community Education in the Flint schools. As the lead agency, the Crim ensures Community Education work is aligned with the City of Flint Master Plan and the vision of the Flint Community Schools put forth by the Flint Community School District. A community school is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, healthy and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.
