Kearsley Lake

Kearsley Lake The webpage and this page have been around since 2007. The website and the page ar

The Kearsley Reservoir was created to serve as a water supply for the City of Flint when the Kearsley Dam was erected in 1929. And it still serves as a backup water supply for the City today. Although the majority of the lake is in Genesee Township, the lake and the surrounding shorline are controlled by the city of Flint and Flint Water Department. Currently there are no public beaches or boat la

unches, but there are areas on the north side of the lake and Golf course that a small boat or canoe could be launched. Because the City of Flint it is not possible for an individual or a group of people to regulate what happens on the lake.

LANSING — The first invasive grass carp capable of reproducing in Michigan was caught this spring during an annual fish survey by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The fish was in an area of the Tittabawassee River running through Midland County. The Tittabawassee flows into Saginaw Bay, which is part of Lake Huron. Its watershed includes parts of Clare, Mecosta and Montcalm counties.

Grass carp, which can grow to almost 5 feet long, have been prohibited in the state for nearly 50 years, according to the DNR.
