April is Autism Awareness Month. 🧩 In partnership with Autism Speaks, the LCA family conducted a Compassion Coin Drive for the entire month collecting $624.58. A 7th grade student at Linden with Autism joined the effort by raising $292 from sales of his custom clay animal creations. Paired with Autism Speaks 5 X match, Linden will donate a total of $4582.90! Special thanks to Mrs. Bertich, peer mentor Jha'lil and the LCA Special Education Dept. for their work in supporting our students with special needs. Families of Linden can further support this effort by purchasing one of these special animals the morning of 5/22 during our minute to win it staff/parents vs. students open house. 🐨

Student Support Coordinator Amy Garza from Communities In Schools recently hosted a powerful and meaningful “Let’s Talk Period” event at Linden Charter Academy on April 15 from 4–6 PM.

This event brought together parents and their female students, ages 9–13, to create a supportive space for open conversation and education about the journey of growing up and transitioning into womanhood. Through honest discussion and guidance, participants gained valuable knowledge, confidence, and reassurance during an important stage of life.

Each attendee also received an emergency period kit, helping ensure they feel prepared and supported moving forward.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and support from the YWCA and Hurley Medical Center in making this event possible. Collaborations like these help strengthen our community and provide essential resources for our students and families.
