🫧 Slime, Senses, and Sentences! 🫧

Our Kindergarteners and 1st Graders have been busy becoming master writers! ✍️✨

🎒 In Kindergarten: We’ve been building strong foundations with letter formation and fine motor skills. Using a multisensory LETRS approach, we explored our five senses to add "sparkle words" to our stories. The highlight? Writing about Bubble Slime! Students described every pop, smell, and squish.

📝 In 1st Grade: We tackled "How-To" writing! Our stars focused on the big four:

Capital letters ⬆️Punctuation 🛑Finger spacing ↔️
Stretching out sounds (phoneme by phoneme!) 🗣️
After some hard work and a little help from Mr. Noah, everyone earned the chance to make their very own batch of slime! Motivation at its finest. 🧪✨

📚🐾 Reading Month at Hamady Elementary was extra special!
Our students had the joy of reading to Diesel, our wonderful support dog, who visited during Reading Month. Diesel was the perfect audience—calm, patient, and encouraging—helping students build confidence, fluency, and a love for reading in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Experiences like these make learning meaningful while nurturing the social‑emotional growth of our youngest learners.

Congratulations to Our Children’s Champion Award Winners!
Join us in celebrating two extraordinary women who were honored at this year’s Children’s Champion Breakfast for their remarkable dedication to young people and our community.
🌟 Ebony Thomas — Caring Adult Award
Ebony serves as Student Support at Hamady Middle/High School, and her compassion, consistency, and daily commitment to supporting our students make her a true champion. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized for the light she brings to our school community.
🌟 Julie McManama — Lifetime Achievement Award (not pictured)
Although we do not know who nominated Julie, her nomination and her award are unquestionably well deserved. Even in retirement, she continues to touch lives with the same heart, energy, and excellence that defined her teaching career. Julie’s impact extends far beyond her years in the classroom, making her a shining example of lifelong dedication to children and families.

🌟 Congratulations, McMonagle Mighty Hawks! 🌟
The McMonagle Girls’ Basketball Team pulled off an incredible come‑from‑behind overtime victory over Dailey Elementary, winning 21–19! 🏀💙💛 What a game!
We’re also proud of both McMonagle Boys’ Teams for making it all the way to the finals. Although they came up just short, their hard work, teamwork, and determination made for an outstanding season. 👏🔥
