โค๏ธ PLEASE SHARE โ Family Service Agency of Mid Michigan is LOOKING FOR A COMMUNITY PARTNER! โค๏ธ
A bit of a long shot here, but Iโm hoping this post reaches a local dealership or business that may be willing to help our nonprofit make a BIG difference for local seniors.
We are looking for a dealership who may consider donating a small SUV, something along the lines of a Ford Escape, Chevy Equinox, or similar vehicle, to our nonprofit so we can expand our Senior Medical Transportation Program.
Just 3ยฝ years ago, this program was a pilot project launched in partnership with the Genesee County Senior Millage. At the time, we were providing approximately 50 rides per month.
Today, we are providing around 160 rides every month.
We have been incredibly blessed with the five vehicles that currently make this program possible, but as our new fiscal year begins this October, we are ready to expand, and we need another vehicle to do it.
So, what does this program do?
Our Senior Medical Transportation Program is 100% FREE and, when scheduling is available, is accessible to Genesee County residents age 60 and older.
We donโt simply drive seniors to their appointments.
Our team:
โค๏ธ Picks them up at their home
โค๏ธ Walks them from their door to the vehicle
โค๏ธ Takes them safely to their medical appointment
โค๏ธ STAYS WITH THEM FOR THE ENTIRE APPOINTMENT
โค๏ธ Takes them to the pharmacy to pick up or fill prescriptions
โค๏ธ Stops at the grocery store when a special diet related to their medical condition requires it
โค๏ธ And makes sure they get safely back home
For many of the seniors we serve, this isnโt just transportation. Itโs the difference between being able to get the medical care they need or going without.
Our agency has been serving our community for 81 years and counting, and I could not be more proud of the impact this program is having on seniors throughout Genesee County.
Now, weโre asking our community to help us reach even more.
