Michigan is honoring Vietnam War-era veterans with a special certificate.

A Vietnam Veteran Recognition Certificate honors Michigan veterans for honorable service during the Vietnam War-era and is signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Adjutant General Paul D. Rogers.

Veterans who served during the Vietnam War-era can learn more and apply for the certificate at Michigan.gov/VietnamCertificate.

On behalf of both the Great Lakes National Cemetery and our Advisory Council, We'd like to invite everyone to our Annual Memorial Day events. This will take place. The weekend will begin on Friday at 5:00pm with flag placement on our gravesites. Parking will be at the cemetery itself for this event.
On Sunday, please join us at 1:00pm for our Memorial Day Ceremony. Parking will be at Genesis Hospital in Grand Blanc with shuttles running back and forth. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Finally, on Tuesday May 27th beginning at 5:00pm we will remove all of the flags from the gravesites. Parking this day will also be here at the cemetery. Even if you aren't able to join in on any of the events, it's a perfect weekend to visit your loved ones with all of the flags throughout the cemetery.
