Your hard work removing trash from the river, planting new plants, and clearing brush and invasive species has made a lasting impact. Keep Genesee County Beautiful is thrilled to partner again with In The Beginning: 1st Ward Project and organizations at the Flint Cultural Center for the second annual Cultural Park to Park!

This initiative establishes valuable relationship and community building amongst Flint residents in all 9 wards, helping to eliminate barriers to support social change and provide residents with available resources and programming from the participating Flint Cultural Area organizations: Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Institute of Music, Sloan Museum of Discovery, & Gloria Coles Flint Public Library.

You can expect Hands-on activities and experiences for all ages, Cultural area information, parks experiences & resources, connecting & networking, & more!

Check the flyer below to find out if they're coming to a park close to you on Wednesdays! Starting this Wednesday, June 3rd-July 29!

Grab your cleats and get ready β€” NFL FLAG is officially coming to Flint! 🏈

NFL FLAG is bringing FUNdamentals to Flint with co-ed teams for boys and girls ages 4-17. Team sizes range from 8-10 players, and league play runs from June 14 through August 2, 2026.

Day One of LoveBurton Week is Tomorrow!

The plan is to meet at 10 AM behind the Huntington Bank on Court Street and remove trash from the tree line and in front of the mall.

Saturday, May 16
πŸ—‘οΈ 10:00 AM – Community Clean-Up on Court Street
Our goal is to collect 100 bags of garbage during LoveBurton Week! Day One is powered by Keep Michigan Beautiful, Inc. and Keep Michigan Beautiful, Inc.

We will meet in America's Most Wanted 4x4 parking lot (the old Lowe's), behind Huntington Bank on Court Street

Sunday, May 17
🌳 2:00 PM – Fire Station #2 Park Clean-Up
We will focus on getting the playground ready for Burton families to enjoy this summer. Bring a rake!

Monday, May 18
🐾 6:00 PM – Build feral cat shelters at Solid Rock Community Church
In partnership with Concept HOPE, volunteers will build shelters for feral cat colonies. Dinner will be provided.

Tuesday, May 19
🌸 4:00 PM – Plant flowers at Burton Memorial Library
In partnership with Friends of the Burton Library, we will plant flowers provided by Keep Genesee County Beautiful

Wednesday, May 20
🌼 4:00 PM – Plant flowers at the Burton Senior Center
We are excited to return and beautify the Senior Center again this year!

Thursday, May 21
πŸ’§ Clean out a nearby storm drain!
Take 5 minutes to clear leaves and debris from a drain in your neighborhood. This simple act helps improve drainage throughout the city. No sign-up needed.

Friday, May 22
πŸͺ΄ 6:00 PM – Assemble flower pots at Solid Rock Community Church
Volunteers will fill decorated flower pots with beautiful flowers to share with seniors at Hampton Manor Senior Living, Lockwood of Burton, and Burton Place. Dinner will be provided.

Saturday, May 23
πŸš— 9:00 AM – Deliver flower pots to senior living centers
🌺 3:00 PM – Distribute more than 100 flats of flowers to Burton residents at Solid Rock Community Church

We are so grateful to The Williamson Foundation for making this week possible. The Williamson Foundation gave Beautify Burton our very first donation, and we are thankful for the opportunity to continue the great community work of Don and Patsy Lou Williamson.

Inspired by LoveWyandotte Week, LoveBurton Week will bring volunteers together to make a positive impact across Burton - one project at a time!
