Happy National Police K-9 Day!

Today we’re celebrating K9 Red and his handler, Officer Cole!

Red has loved getting to meet so many of you out in the community over the last couple of months, and if you ask him, there’s nothing better than going to work!

And for everyone who’s been asking… Red tells us retired K9 Blue is doing just fine and enjoying life at home!

It was a long week for our crew, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work they put in to help keep this year’s tourname...

It was a long week for our crew, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work they put in to help keep this year’s tournament running smoothly and safely!

A special shoutout to Captain McCoy, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize and coordinate everything. His leadership helped make it another successful Ally Challenge for our department!

From our motorcycle, bicycle, drone and K9 units out on the course, to our cadets holding it down at the crosswalks, it truly took a team effort throughout the entire week.

Thank you to everyone who put in the long hours, stepped up wherever needed and represented the Grand Blanc Township Police Department so well. We appreciate you!

8 to 8 at the Ally Challenge with Officer Lyons!

Our Bicycle Unit is a huge asset during the Ally Challenge, allowing our officers to quickly maneuver throughout the course and respond where needed.

We hope to see you out at the Ally Challenge this weekend! Have fun, stay safe and enjoy some great golf right here in Grand Blanc Township! ⛳️

There is a dangerous misconception circulating that drivers can simply refuse to stop for law enforcement because officers "aren't allowed to pursue a fleeing motorist". THAT IS NOT TRUE. Spoiler alert: This driver learned the hard way and is thinking about his decision while sitting in the county jail. Drivers fleeing and eluding put everyone at risk. If an officer signals for you to pull over, safely pull over and stop.

School is back, and so is our focus on school zone safety! Our officers are out keeping an eye on our school zones and helping make sure everyone is doing their part to keep our students safe.

As a reminder:
🚌 Slow down and be alert around school buses and bus stops.
🚸 Follow posted school zone speed limits.
🚗 Give yourself extra time during morning and afternoon drop-off and pickup.
👀 Stay focused and watch for students crossing streets and entering roadways.
