XcapeCON XcapeCON , a multigenre, multimedia convention centered with comics as its focus founded in 2007 by Brian Germain and Christine Owens.

in 2006 there was one main comic book convention in Michigan, The Motor City Comic Convention it had usurped the throne as King of the Michigan conventions and none were around to say otherwise for at least 5 years. Then in 2007 XcapeCON became the first multimedia multi-genre comic convention in Mid-Michigan area in over 22 years. it was a great success and paved the way for several new conventio

ns around Michigan including C3 (Cherry Capital Con), Detroit Fanfare, Railroad City Con, Flint Comix Con, Great Lakes Comic Con, Grand Rapids Comic Con and Flint Horror Con as well as several other smaller shows that never really took off
